Help for Kids and Seniors

child-with-strawberry.jpg

We provide good food choices for all stages of life. Discover our programs specially designed for every age.

We all have different food needs as we grow older and affording the right foods can be a challenge. But with your Food Bank by your side, Central Texans of any age can be on the right track to healthy eating.

For Youth

After School

We make it easy for kids to practice healthy eating habits after the school day has ended. At Kids Cafe sites, children attending enrichment and after school programs at area schools and other programs can also get free, nutritious meals. At select sites, kids can receive a backpack filled with easy-to-prepare food they need for the weekend.

During the Summer

When school's over for the summer it can be an expensive time for many families. Any child age 18 and under can visit a summer meal sites to receive free meals, snacks and participate in fun activities. They don't need ID or a reservation. Just come to the table. To find a site near you visit www.centraltexasfoodbank.org/sfsp, call 211 or text FoodTX to 877-877.

Although exact contents vary, every box includes cereals, juices, proteins, peanut butter or dry beans, milk, grains, cheese, and canned fruits and vegetables. Seniors age 60 and older who meet the eligibility guidelines are welcome to apply at a CSFP distribution. You may request a paper application on site or download an application to complete beforehand. Please bring proof of ID and income from the list of approved documents.
