Find Your Way to Take Action

CTFB Neighbors at Golden Harvest Market Killeen Texas

Increasing food access takes all of us, and there’s a place for everyone.

Give your time. Make a financial contribution. Advocate for policies that strengthen food access. Bring your workplace or organization together around a shared purpose. Donate food. Attend an event. Or simply learn more and help others understand the realities of hunger in Central Texas.

However you choose to get involved, you’re helping us meet the needs of our neighbors today while building a stronger community tomorrow.

Volunteer

Give your time. Be part of what makes the work possible.

Every week, volunteers work alongside our team members across our operations — helping prepare food for distribution, supporting our markets and mobile distributions, working in our kitchen, on our farm, and pitching in wherever they’re needed.

Opportunities are available for individuals and groups, with a variety of activities, schedules and locations to choose from. Whether you volunteer once or return regularly, your time helps make it possible to get more food to our neighbors throughout Central Texas.

Advocacy

Use your voice for good.

Decisions made by elected officials can directly affect how individuals and families access nutritious food. School meal programs, investments in local food systems, and policies that affect household and economic stability all play a role in food access in Central Texas. That makes advocacy an important part of our work.

We work with neighbors, community partners, policymakers and other organizations to share information, elevate community experiences and advance policies that support greater access to nutritious food.

Donate Food

Put good food to good use.

Food donations are an important part of our food sourcing initiatives. Individuals, community groups, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, farmers and others can help ensure nutritious food is available to neighbors throughout Central Texas.

There are many ways to donate, and the best option depends on what you have to give, and how much of it you have.
