On Dec. 5, 2014, Crenshaw Athletic Club after school program students hosted their third annual Fun Run Fundraiser. In its first year, students from kindergarten to fifth grade joined together and raised $3,500 by taking pledges for each lap they ran.
This year, they more than doubled their impact. The 85 students ran for 45 minutes on a quarter-mile track. Several students were able to complete more than 30 laps.
At the end of the run, the Crenshaw Athletic Club students raised more than $7,000 for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas in just under an hour.
