August 29 – September 14 Event Benefits the Central Texas Food Bank
AUSTIN, TX – Foodies across Central Texas can make a difference this fall just by dining out. The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB), in partnership with over 100 area restaurants, invites our community to savor bold flavors and give back during Austin Restaurant Weeks, happening August 29 to September 14.
Presented by Delta Air Lines and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, the two-week culinary event features exclusive prix fixe menus and drink specials from participating restaurants in the greater Austin area. A portion of the price of each meal or item goes directly to CTFB and its mission to increase access to nutritious food.
“Austin Restaurant Weeks is a reminder about the power of food and how it unites a community with something as simple as a shared meal can be part of a bigger solution,” said Sari M. Vatske, President + CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank. “By dining out during these two weeks, you’re not only supporting local restaurants, you’re also helping ensure Central Texans have the food and resources they need to thrive.”
This year’s event features Chef Ambassador Philip Speer, a four-time James Beard Foundation Award nominee for the esteemed Outstanding Pastry Chef category. Additionally, he has received abundant recognition from major publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, GQ Magazine, Texas Monthly, Bon Appetit, and many more. Philip is a local legend in the Austin hospitality industry and is a long-time supporter of CTFB.
“I’m so thrilled to be an ambassador for an event that highlights the very best parts of the culinary community in Austin. For two weeks we will showcase the delicious food and hospitality the city has come to be known for, while supporting our struggling neighbors with dignity and compassion,” said Philip Speer, Owner and Operator of Comedor.
Restaurants participating in Austin Restaurant Weeks offer prix fixe menus for $25, $50 or $75 as well as cocktail, beer and wine specials. Restaurants may also offer a dedicated special menu item. There is no additional ask for diners — your meal automatically supports CTFB.
Menus for the participating restaurants, searchable by food type, location and other variables can be found at austinrestaurantweeks.org, with continued regular updates.
