Régulo, Billie, Luz, Anita, Curtis, Julia and the list goes on. These are only a few of the 46,000 individuals who rely on the Food Bank each week to make sure their families have a meal on the table. However, we can’t do it alone.
Despite distributing 38 million pounds of food last year, the Food Bank still fell short of meeting demand by 30 percent. And about one-third of those facing hunger are children.
You can help close the hunger gap during Amplify Austin, a 24-hour day of giving hosted by I Live Here, I Give Here. Though Amplify Austin is from 6 p.m. on March 2 to 6 p.m. on March 3, you can act now to help feed 2,500 Central Texas families of four for a month.
