14 Years of Apple’s Commitment to Central Texas

Oct03

For 14 years, Apple has partnered with the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) to help fuel hunger relief across the region. What began as a commitment to service has grown into a lasting tradition of volunteerism, philanthropy, and employee engagement. Year after year, Apple’s support continues to make a meaningful difference for families throughout Central Texas.

A Legacy of Giving Back

Apple’s impact goes beyond a single campaign or donation. Through workplace giving programs, employee volunteerism, and corporate grants, Apple has become one of CTFB’s top partners in both dollars raised and hours donated.

Every contribution is amplified: Apple matches both employee donations and volunteer hours, doubling the impact of every action. This long-standing model of support empowers employees to engage with their community while ensuring more nutritious food reaches the tables of neighbors in need.

“Apple is a true example of what it means to embrace corporate social responsibility,” said Sari M. Vatske, President + CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank. “Their continued generosity and employee engagement are humbling and hopefully inspirational to other companies.”

Volunteers Power the Mission

From monthly volunteer shifts in the warehouse to food drives and seasonal events, Apple employees bring their time, energy, and creativity to the food bank. Their efforts help sort produce, pack emergency food boxes, and ensure fresh staples make it out the door quickly to families across CTFB’s 21-county service area.

“We’re proud to be part of the Austin community, and to support organizations like the Central Texas Food Bank, which provides such an important service to individuals and families here,” said Alisha Johnson Wilder, Apple’s Senior Director of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives.

Unrestricted Support Fuels Innovation

One of the most powerful aspects of Apple’s giving is its flexibility. Unrestricted funding allows CTFB to direct resources where they’re needed most, whether that’s responding to emergencies like hurricanes, expanding food access in high-need areas, or piloting innovative programs that strengthen long-term food security.

This flexibility is vital in helping CTFB remain responsive, resilient, and ready to serve — especially in a region where food insecurity remains high.
