The strength and conditioning gym BVM Crossfit is hosting their Fransgiving Food Drive and challenging fitness enthusiasts to finish the “Fran” the quickest while helping families in need. Participants can expect to do three rounds of 21-15-9 reps of thrusters (95/65 pounds) and pull-ups for time. To make it more interesting and give athletes bragging rights, contestants are encouraged to bring healthy non-perishable food items to the competition to benefit the Food Bank. For each food item that is donated, three seconds will be removed from the individual’s time. The more food each competitor donates, the faster their time will be.
The event will be held at BVM Crossfit on Saturday, November 19 from 9:30 A.M. to 1 P.M. Entry to the competition is $25 and tickets can be purchased here.
The Food Bank’s most requested items are:
- peanut butter
- canned chicken breast or tuna
- canned low sodium vegetables
- canned fruit in its own juice (no sugar added)
- dry pinto beans
- brown rice
- non-fat dry milk powder
- 100 percent whole grain cereal
