The world’s largest hot sauce festival is right around the corner bringing the best salsas and sauces right here in Austin. You can expect more than 350 salsas at every Scoville rating to compete for the ultimate bragging rights of the hot sauce world.
Always the last Sunday in August and now in its 25th year, the festival returns to Fiesta Gardens where you can sample all the hot sauce you can handle. This free festival is a great way to enjoy great local bands, shop and get to know the foodies in your community.
Suggested entry to the festival is three healthy non-perishable food items or a $5 donation to the Capital Are Food Bank. Look for our booth at the festival where you can purchase tickets to the Sizzling Summer Raffle and have a chance to win one of three fabulous prize packages. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and 100 percent of the proceeds benefits the Food Bank. There is no limit on how many tickets you can purchase.
If you’re ready to go beyond the gochujang and help us provide good nutrition to Central Texans on a limited budget, the Austin Chronicle and your food bank are happy to lend a hand and a chip or two.
