November 1st - 30th, 2016
Furry felines and canines can help fight hunger in Central Texas. Pet owners can keep their pets healthy and help families facing hunger during the Anderson Mill Animal Clinic’s food drive. During November, when individuals donate four or more healthy non-perishable human food items to benefit the Food Bank, the animal clinic will give their client’s cat or dog a free nail trim.
All the food collected will benefit the Central Texas Food Bank to help support the organization’s hunger relief efforts across our vast 21-county service territory. The food will help provide the 46,000 clients the Food Bank serves each week a meal for the holidays.
The Food Bank’s most requested items:
- peanut butter
- canned chicken breast or tuna
- canned low sodium vegetables
- canned fruit in its own juice (no sugar added)
- dry pinto beans
- brown rice
- non-fat dry milk powder
- 100 percent whole grain cereal
