Whataburger and Central Texas Food Bank: A Texas Partnership Powering Local Solutions

Oct14

At Whataburger, community is part of the recipe for impact. The iconic Texas brand has shown a sustained commitment to helping power the Central Texas Food Bank’s (CTFB) mission, ensuring more Central Texans have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive.

In September, Whataburger used its platform to rally generosity through its buck slip register campaign. This year alone, customers raised $48,000 and the company donated an additional $50,000. In total, their contribution will help provide more than 290,000 meals through CTFB programs and services.

In the 11 years Whataburger has partnered with CTFB, they have contributed a total of $400,000.

Beyond the numbers, each partnership opportunity helps amplify CTFB’s mission, sparking critical conversations about hunger and food insecurity across the state.

A Brand Rooted in Texas and in Community

As a Texas-born company, Whataburger understands what community means to Central Texans. Their continued investment in local solutions, from fundraising campaigns to volunteer shifts, helps make Central Texas a better place to live and work.

Beyond the Register: Showing Up for People

Whataburger’s support extends far beyond the fundraising counter. Their teams regularly volunteer with CTFB and even bring food and drinks for staff and volunteers, gestures that reflect the company’s belief in community care at every level.

These acts of generosity underscore the brand’s ongoing commitment to Central Texans. For CTFB team members and volunteers, those moments are reminders that the mission is shared and that meaningful partnerships are built through consistency and care.

Corporate Giving that Strengthens the System

Reliable, long-term corporate partners like Whataburger make it possible for CTFB to plan ahead, scale operations, and invest in long-term solutions. Unrestricted funding and consistent engagement help CTFB focus on what matters most: connecting neighbors to nutritious food and the resources that foster stability.

When companies choose to invest locally, they not only support hunger relief efforts but also strengthen the communities their own employees call home.
