RBFCU’s “All of the Above” Giving Strategy Raises Thousands of Meals in First Year.

Dec09

In October, RBFCU created a matching gift challenge to raise funds for the Capital Area Food Bank. They encouraged members and staff to donate food and funds at branches, through its website at rbfcu.org, through a customized Virtual Food Drive online and to share the campaign on social media with the hashtag #rbfcufooddrive.  The response was so successful Randolph Brooks extended the campaign an additional 15 days.

In a press release to kick off the food and fund drive, Mark Matthews, assistant vice president of business development and community relations for RBFCU, said he wanted an event that would be impactful.

"Credit unions were built on the motto of 'people helping people,' and that's the goal we want our "double your donation" food drive to achieve," Matthews said.

Helping its members and staff donate in the way that was easiest and most engaging for them proved to be a recipe for success.

A special thanks goes to RBFCU and their generous members for their support this holiday season.
