For more than a decade, Austin-based restaurant Jack Allen’s Kitchen has shown what it looks like when a local business puts community at the heart of everything it does. From welcoming neighbors around the table to consistently supporting our efforts to increase food access across Central Texas, Jack Allen’s Kitchen has been a valued corporate partner of the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) — and this spring, they’re finding a fun new way to give back while supporting hunger relief in Central Texas.
In celebration of 16 years in Austin, Jack Allen’s Kitchen has launched Jack Allen’s Madness “Sweet 16” Bracket, a March Madness–inspired competition featuring 16 of the restaurant’s most iconic dishes. The campaign invites the community to vote for their favorites, fill out brackets, and join in a month-long celebration of the flavors that helped make Jack Allen’s an Austin favorite.
How the Austin Community Can Join In
The bracket unfolds in weekly rounds, mirroring a classic basketball tournament:
-
Sweet 16 – Bracket released March 2.
-
Eats 8, Flava’ Four, and Delicious Duo Championship – New rounds released every Monday.
-
Winning Dish Announced – March 30.
Community members can participate by voting in Instagram polls on @JackAllensKitchen and by filling out a bracket in-restaurant at any Jack Allen’s Kitchen location. Diners who complete a bracket in person will also be entered for a chance to win a $500 Jack Allen’s Kitchen gift card.
Turning Favorite Dishes Into Meaningful Impact
What makes this celebration especially powerful is its generosity. Once a champion dish is crowned, $1 from every order of the winning item will be donated to CTFB for 16 weeks, helping increase equitable access to nutritious food for families and individuals across our region. This initiative builds on a long history of partnership and corporate philanthropy in Austin.
This initiative builds on a long history of partnership. Jack Allen’s Kitchen has supported CTFB for more than 10 years, including participation in Austin Restaurant Weeks and milestone anniversary fundraisers. Over the years, their support has totaled $14,300 — helping provide nearly 43,000 meals to neighbors throughout Central Texas.
“Jack Allen’s Kitchen has long been a champion for the Austin community, and this initiative shows what’s possible when generosity is built into everyday moments,” said Sari Vatske, President and CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank. “We’re thankful to partner with a restaurant that’s using its platform and its most-loved dishes to help ensure more families have reliable access to food.”
