Gumbo Fest

The Cavalier invites gumbo enthusiasts to the 3rd Annual Gumbo Fest where local chefs showcase their southern creations and compete for the coveted titles of People's Choice and Judge's Choice awards. Best of all, a portion of proceeds benefit the Central Texas Food Bank helping nourish the lives of our neighbors facing hunger!

This lively event, free and open to all ages, captivates attendees with the tantalizing aromas of simmering gumbos and the spirited atmosphere of friendly competition. Participants vie not only for bragging rights but also for the esteemed honor of winning over the taste buds of both the public and a discerning panel of judges. Judges include Chef Rich Reimbolt of Better Half and Holdout Brewing, and Chef Kate Rousset of the Cavalier.

Amidst the simmering pots of gumbo, Gumbo Fest offers more than just a feast for the palate. The Eastside pop-up market adds to the festivities, featuring a diverse array of vendors offering everything from vintage clothing to unique crafts to handmade wares. Attendees can peruse the eclectic offerings while enjoying the rhythmic beats of DJ Montez, who will spin New Orleans vibes to enhance the lively ambiance.
