2017 Keep Austin Weird Fest & 5K

Jun24

As the heart of Texas, Austin is a unique and special place. Known for many things, we pride ourselves in keeping Austin weird. Every year we celebrate and toast Austin’s weirdness with Keep Austin Weird Fest & 5K where attendees, young and old, dress in colorful eccentric costumes as they enjoy a full day of walking, live music, playing, food and weird attractions. The festival will be held across the street from the Long Center on Saturday, June 24 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Beginning at 6 p.m., attendees can participate in the 5K known as the “slowest 5K on the planet” wearing the silliest and funkiest costumes. Along the course, runners can enjoy 15 outrageous fun stops that will make it a memorable race.

Aside from celebrating Austin’s weirdness, the festival also supports families facing hunger. The Food Bank will receive $1 for every ticket sold. Attendees can also drop off non-perishable food donations at the festival. Last year’s festival brought in 5,837 pound of food donations and $4,023.25 in monetary donations.

Ticket Prices:

Early bird prices through March 19 are $23 for adults and $11 for kids. Each ticket is a combined  5K and festival pass.
