Looking for a hands-on way to grow your gardening skills while giving back to the community? Join us for a special Garden Workshop with Figbeard at the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB). This interactive workshop will highlight fall garden propagation methods while supporting our mission to provide nutritious food to families across Central Texas.
What to Expect
- Coffee & Community: Start your morning with coffee from Radio/East, light snacks, and time to connect with fellow gardeners.
- Garden Tour: Explore the CTFB’s teaching and production gardens while learning about the fresh produce that helps nourish our neighbors.
- Propagation Demos: Using seasonal plants, Figbeard will guide you through practical methods for growing more – for your own garden and for community projects.
Hands-On Activities
From 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., dive into propagation techniques you can practice at home:
- DIY natural rooting hormones
- Seed collecting & saving
- Propagating and seed-starting woody perennials
- Making simple, sustainable newspaper nursery pots
Each participant will take home cuttings and seeds to continue growing beyond the workshop.
