Christmas came a little early for the Capital Area Food Bank, when a human-sized gift wrapped in the brightest red wrapping paper, topped with a white bow arrived Wednesday.

When parents cannot turn to free- or reduced-priced meals at schools, or suddenly find themselves with another family member to support, food budgets can take a turn for the worse. 

Finding an innovative way for members and communities to give back this season, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union raised 72,000 meals in financial and food donations during its first-year holiday campaign.
