Keller Williams Realty collects nearly 13,000 meals for Capital Area Food Bank

Nov02

Keller Williams Realty has hosted an annual food drive for the past 22 years. Andrea Ryan, the Keller Williams Realty food drive coordinator, says it all started as a way to connect and give back to the community. Since then, it has evolved into a hugely successful tradition.

Every fall, Keller Williams agents distribute 57,000 donation bags in neighborhoods throughout Austin. Residents have a month to fill the bags with healthy, nonperishable food items for the Capital Area Food Bank.

“It’s our way of helping people and giving back to the community where we live,” says Ryan.

Each year, the Keller Williams team try to out-do their efforts from the year before. This year Keller Williams brought in 15,413 pounds of food. That’s 12,844 meals for Central Texans in need! Since 2010 Keller Williams has raised over 70,000 meals.

Keller Williams staff look forward to this event and see it as an opportunity to bring together the neighborhoods they serve and support a great cause.

Every week the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas and our network of 285 Community Partners provide food resources to nearly 46,000 Central Texans in 21 counties.

The thoughtful efforts of Keller Williams, along with all those who donate time, food, and funds, represent the best of Central Texas and demonstrate what it means to live in a community.
