Companies Raise more than 500,000 Meals

Jan25

As the Food Bank continues to meet the rising need due to the pandemic, local companies stepped up to help—with a little friendly competition. Central Texas companies of all sizes challenged each other for our inaugural Corporate Challenge to raise funds virtually for our neighbors in need and multiply their impact.

The event started with a target of raising $50,000, but the 18 participating companies shattered that goal. Together they raised more than $111,145. More than 550 donors helped provide 506,176 meals for our most vulnerable neighbors!

Participating companies designated team captains to encourage and engage their co-workers to help fight hunger. With only six weeks to raise funds, the competition was on between companies and across teams within the same company.

Each week, employees learned about how the Food Bank fights hunger and how the funds raised make an impact.

While all the companies are winners for helping keep our community fed, we would like to recognize those companies who went the extra mile to fight hunger: Intel, Texas Municipal Center and PIMCO.  Congratulations to Arista Networks for raising the most funds per employee.

We’re blown away by what the corporate community has accomplished in such a short time. Thank you for making our inaugural Corporate Challenge an incredible success!
