14 Years of Partnership in Advocacy, Volunteerism, and Giving Back
AUSTIN, TX — Every September, Hunger Action Month shines a spotlight on the urgent issue of hunger and calls on individuals, businesses, and communities to take action. This year, the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) is proud to highlight Apple — a steadfast partner for 14 years — whose commitment to service, philanthropy, and advocacy embodies the true spirit of Hunger Action Month.
As a long-standing member of the Austin community, Apple has made a significant impact on the lives of Central Texans who struggle with food insecurity. Through workplace giving, volunteerism, and grant support, Apple stands as one of CTFB’s top partners in terms of dollars raised and hours donated.
Apple employees have made significant contributions to CTFB through the company’s workplace giving program — through both volunteering and donations. Every dollar and every hour are matched by Apple to double the impact.
"Apple is a true example of what it means to embrace corporate social responsibility," said Sari M. Vatske, President + CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank. "Their continued generosity and employee engagement are humbling and hopefully inspirational to other companies. We thank them for their deep commitment to our mission."
From participating in monthly volunteer shifts to food drives, and grants in times of crisis such as the pandemic and hurricanes, Apple has demonstrated time and again that giving back is not just what they do — it’s who they are.
“We’re proud to be part of the Austin community, and to support organizations like the Central Texas Food Bank, which provides such an important service to individuals and families here,” said Alisha Johnson Wilder, Apple’s senior director of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives.
Most importantly, Apple’s unrestricted giving allows CTFB the flexibility to direct funds where they are needed most — fueling innovation, emergency response, and long-term impact.
As we mark this 14-year milestone, we offer our gratitude to Apple for their partnership in making tomorrow possible.
This celebration comes during Hunger Action Month; a nationwide campaign held every September to raise awareness and inspire action to reduce hunger in our communities. Apple’s longstanding commitment to service and giving back exemplifies the spirit of Hunger Action Month — reminding us that when businesses, nonprofits, and neighbors come together, every action makes a difference.
