Souper Bowl of Caring Sets New Record

Feb06

For Central Texans, the big game means more than football players tackling each other. It means our community coming together to tackle hunger and help our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet through Souper Bowl of Caring. Year after year, we celebrate an even bigger victory. This year is no different.

Though the final donations are still rolling in, we’re excited to announce that we have exceeded our goal of raising 3 million meals for families facing hunger!

This has been possible thanks to the incredible generosity from our community. It’s truly a team effort.

We couldn’t have done this without help from our amazing partners: H-E-B, Randalls and Central Market.

“In the retail world we’re competitors, but for us to be able to team up together, unite against this great epidemic and tackle hunger together is a great deal for us,” said Martin West, Randalls’ Center of Store Operations Director in Austin.

From impressive Souper Bowl of Caring store displays to staff encouraging shoppers to give, the grocers made it easy for everyone to participate. Individuals could help out by making a donation at the register or purchasing a pre-packed bag of nourishing food.

This year Randalls changed it up a bit, incentivizing shoppers to give by having a contest for tickets to the big game and a gift card.

We can’t thank everyone enough for their unbelievable support in tackling hunger. Thanks to you, families have a meal on their table.
