Amplify Austin is a Huge Success

The power of our community is amazing! We can’t believe all the support we received during Amplify Austin. Thanks to almost 1,000 amazing supporters, we were able to raise more than $171,000 that will provide more than 680,000 meals, surpassing our goal of 600,000 meals. We are grateful for your generous donations, and we couldn’t have done it without you. The gifts we have received will benefit the 46,000 clients the Food Bank serves each week. Thank you for making an impact in your community and helping those in need.

We especially want to thank the Wood Family for sponsoring a power hour during Amplify Austin on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The goal was to raise $10,000, with the Wood Family matching all donations up to $10,000, for a total of $20,000. The power hour was a complete success! By 10:22 a.m. we had reached the $10,000 goal. The family inspired 97 donors to give and together raised $24,060 by the end of the hour. Thanks to the Wood Family’s unbelievable support and the St. David’s Foundation matching funds, the power hour will help provide 120,000 meals for hungry families in Central Texas.

For the first time, we kicked off Amplify Austin at the Food Bank. Attendees joined us to watch the donations come in as they enjoyed tacos, drinks and even got a glimpse of the food donation sorting process through our special volunteer opportunity . Thanks to our sponsors, Austin Beerworks and Gracious Gift Wine, for providing the beverages during the event and making it a fun evening. Gracious Gift Wine, who provided wine for this special occasion, are also year-round supporters of the Food Bank. For every wine bottle they sell, a portion of the proceeds benefit the Food Bank.

The Capital Area Food Bank is just one of the 611 organizations that received donations during Amplify Austin, a 24-hour online fundraising event that benefits nonprofits in Austin. With more than 61,000 total donations, the event helped raise $8.5 million total. It’s extraordinary to see our community give back. We can’t thank our supporters enough for helping close the hunger gap in Central Texas.
