Austin’s CROP Hunger Walk, sponsored by Church World Service, celebrates the interreligious participation of people locally and globally to raise money for food, medical care, disaster relief and development. This year, once again, the Food Bank is one of five local beneficiaries which include, Casa Marianella, iACT Refugee Program, and Urban Roots and Micah 6 of Austin Food Pantry. Last year, the event raised $13,243 for the Food Bank to help feed Central Texas families in need.
Registration for the event is from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on February 24 at Camp Mabry. The walking step-off starts at 2:30 p.m. Individuals may also register online here, or if they’re unable to participate during the walk, they may give a donation or support a walker or a team with a donation.
