The Central Texas Food Bank is looking for a Volunteer Resources Coordinator in our Community Engagement Department. This role works to coordinate volunteer programs, including recruitment, cultivation, stewardship, tracking, recognition and user experience aspects for individual and group volunteers working in our Product Recovery warehouse, at our Mobile Pantries, in our Kitchen, in our Garden, in Administrative roles and at select events. Reporting to the Volunteer Resources Manager on the Community Engagement team, this position’s key responsibilities include management of leadership volunteer programs, strategic community outreach, volunteer recruitment and program development to support other departments within the Food Bank, and volunteer data management, administration and reporting.
As a Volunteer Resources Coordinator, you will
- Be responsible for the Food Bank’s leadership volunteer programs including: Volunteer Leaders, Volunteer Representatives and Administrative volunteers; coordinate recruitment, scheduling, training, communications, benchmarking, evaluation and overall volunteer experience.
- Support targeted volunteer recruitment and data tracking for volunteer programs defined as strategic priorities, such as our Mobile Food Pantry program, Garden, Kitchen and others.
- Participate in community outreach to promote the Food Bank’s volunteer opportunities, including tours, fairs and speaking engagements, and provide volunteer information in response to inquiries from the public.
- Coordinate volunteer recognition and stewardship programs, including planning recognition events and soliciting in-kind donations for those events.
- Serve as the Volunteer Resources team’s administrator for our online volunteer registration system and constituent relationship management database; manage the systems for proper functionality and provide analysis and reports.
- Work a flexible schedule to accommodate volunteer shift times during evenings and Saturdays, as assigned. Work days will be Monday – Saturday with varying hours (total 40).

- Good judgment and discretion, strong ethical character, ability to preserve donor confidentiality and when requested, donor anonymity.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite including strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers representing a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.
- Fast learner with creative problem-solving skills.
